Shams Station 1

Benefits:  Reduce carbon footprint
 Avoid releasing 175 thousand tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to planting 1.5 million trees or removing 15 thousand cars from Abu Dhabi's roads.
 The energy produced from the plant will be sufficient to supply more than 20 thousand homes in Abu Dhabi with their overall electricity needs throughout the year.

Noor Abu Dhabi Station

Location: Sweihan - Abu Dhabi
Capacity: 1.2 gigawatts

Benefits:
 Reducing the carbon footprint by 1 million metric tons per year, which is equivalent to removing 200,000 cars from the road.
 It covers the required demand for 90,000 people.
 3.2 million solar panels covering 8 km.

Benefits:
 Reduction of more than 6.5 million tons of carbon emissions per year, and will use thermal storage technology for a period of 8 to 12 hours per day, taking into account technical and economic factors, which contribute to raising efficiency and effectiveness of production, in accordance with electricity needs, and providing a sustainable supply of energy.

Al Dhafra Station

Location: Al Dhafra
Estimated capacity: 2 gigawatts
Operation: second half of 2020
Technology Type: Solar PV
Benefits
 Reduc Abu Dhabi's carbon emissions by more than 2.4 million metric tons per year.
 Provid electricity to more than 160,000 homes in Abu Dhabi.
 Remove 470,000 cars from the roads.
 Increase the total production capacity of solar energy in Abu Dhabi to around 3.2 gigawatts.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Capacity: 1,000 MW by 2020 and 5,000 MW by 2030.

Dumat Al Jandal Wind Farm:

Benefits:
 Contributes to the reduction of about 1 million tons of carbon emissions per year.
 The wind plant generates enough energy to power 70,000 homes.

Future Projects

From the National Renewable Energy Program in Saudi Arabia, the launch of several solar energy projects with a total capacity of 1200 MW, including:

Oman

Miraah Solar Project

Location: Amal oilfield
Consists of: 36 greenhouses
Area: 3 square kilometres
Generate: 6000 tons of steam per day
Thermal production capacity: estimated at 1 GB per day
Benefits:
 reduction of 300 tons of CO2 emissions annually, which is equivalent to the disposal of car exhaust, estimated at 63,000 thousand cars.
 providing 5.6 trillion thermal units of gas annually, a quantity that can be used to provide electricity to homes for more than 209 thousand people.

Dhofar wind power plant:

Location: Thumrait
Production capacity: Estimated 50 MW
Consists of: 13 wind turbines
Benefits:
 Reduce the emission of 110 thousand tons of carbon dioxide annually.
 provides electricity to more than 16 thousand homes.
 The plant provides 7% of the energy needed for Dhofar Governorate.

Amin solar power plant

Location: Nmr
Technologies: solar panels
Production capacity: 100 MW
Area: 4 km
consists of: 336 thousand solar panels
Benefits:
 Supplying electricity to 15 thousand homes.
 Reducing 225 thousand tons annually of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to that emitted by about 23 thousand cars on the roads.
 Bifacial units as well as devices that track the path of the sun.

Ibri solar project:

Location: Ibri
Consists of: 1.4 million solar panels
Area: 13 million square meters
Thermal production capacity: estimated at 500 megawatts
Technology: (moving photovoltaic cells single-axis - double panels, solar tracking systems, robots for cleaning solar panels)
Benefits:
 Reduce 340,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
 Provides electricity to 50,000 homes.

Manah Solar 1 & 2 Power Plant:

Location: Manah
Area: 1200 hectares
Production capacity: estimated 500 MW each, the total (1000 MW)
Technology Type: Solar PV

 Reduce the emission of 680 thousand tons annually.
 provides electricity to 33 thousand homes.

Qatar

Area: 10 km
Benefits:
 Contributes to the reduction of 26 million tons of carbon emissions.

Kuwait

There are four special projects in using renewable energy in Vision 2035:

1- Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex, 96% of the project has been completed and it is expected to be finalized in 2022.
2- Supply, installation, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of Al-Subiya Ground Water Storage, 8% of the project has been completed and it is expected to be finalized in 2024.
3- Water Desalination Center using renewable energies, 2% of the project has been completed and it is expected to be finalized in 2025.
4- Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex Project - Phase III, which has not been started.
